Deborah McCormick

Deborah McCormick, 61 of Overland Park, Kansas, formerly of Temple, Texas, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2014, at her home. Deborah was born November 3, 1952, in San Saba, TX, to William and Marcheta Busby Adams. She graduated from Temple High School. Deborah enjoyed writing poetry and loved camping with her family. She will be missed by the love of her life, her husband Charles and Che, her Havenese. She was preceded in death by her father, Bill Adams and step-father, E. A. "Jim" Baker. Deborah is survived by her husband of 26 years, Charles McCormick; three children, Leslie Lents and wife Jennifer, Melanie Ray and Michele Robinson and husband Brian; grandchildren, Monica Lents, Paisley and TJ Ray and Koner and Jack Robinson; her mother, Marcheta Baker; two brothers, Gary Adams and wife Joyce and Paul Baker and wife Marion; one sister, Linda Groves and husband Chester; and many nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Road, Temple, TX 76504. Interment will follow at the Bellwood Memorial Park, Temple, TX. The family will receive friends from 7-9:00 PM Friday, May 30, 2014 at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made in Deborah's name to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 (stjude.org) or to the charity of choice.
