A visitation for Bruce will be held on Saturday, March 29, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home, 3110 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76504. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 PM, also at the funeral home. A graveside service will take place at Bellwood Memorial Park Cemetery, 8575 Airport Rd, Temple, TX 76502.
Bruce attended the University of Mary Hardin Baylor, graduating in 1978 with a Bachelor's Degree in English and History. He served in the United States Army from October 4,1968 - July 1, 1971.
Bruce was in the entertainment industry for over 40 years as an actor with several motion picture and television credits to his name, He also had principal roles in television commercials, industry training videos and voiceovers for national corporations. He wrote, produced, and acted in a number of dinner theater murder mysteries and successfully published the first Dallas-Fort Worth talent directory. He was trusted assistant to famed Dallas talent agent, Peggy Taylor, for over a decade before opening his own agency, Hennie and Company, representing some of the finest actors in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex. He was also the former artistic director of the Hill Country Community Theater. He was a member at First Methodist Church of Temple where he also taught Sunday School, was a deacon, and was a member of the choir. Bruce was a voracious reader and a devoted crossword puzzle fan.
Bruce was preceded in death by his mother and father and is survived by sisters Karen H. Stevens and her husband Bill of Howard, Ohio and Laurie H. Wilson of Fort Worth, Texas; nephew William Stevens and wife Juli of Barberton, Ohio, nieces Nichole Stevens of Johnstown, Ohio and Heather Wilson Cross and husband Randy of Fort Worth, Texas along with grandnieces Savannah Oleshchuk and husband Andrew, Terra Robbins and husband Mateo, Grace Cross and Alexandra Cross.
