Mass of Christian Burial for Brian James Bezner, 67, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Friday at St. Luke Catholic Church with Father Don Loftin officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mr. Bezner died Monday in a Temple Hospital. Mr. Bezner was born December 14, 1949 in Gainesville to James Cyril Bezner and Laurie Lee Wilde Bezner. He married Nancy Endres December 29, 1972 in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Muenster, Texas. He graduated from Lindsay High School in 1968 and from the University of North Texas in 1973 with a Bachelor of Journalism and a minor in Public Relations. He moved to Temple from Amarillo in 1984. He worked for the McLane Company for over twenty-five years. He was a member of St. Luke Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus, served on the board of Temple High School Quarterback Club, and served on the board of Court Appointed Special Advocates for Children. He also worked in Commercial Real Estate with Aldrich-Thomas Realtors and owned and operated the two Pack and Mail Stores in Temple. Survivors include his wife Nancy Bezner of Temple; one son Jake Bezner of Dallas; three daughters Julia Garza and her husband Michael and their children Alex and Madeline of Temple, Leslie McDowell and her husband Joel and their children Olivia and Miles of Richardson, and Emily Howard and her husband Andrew and their children Warren and Graham of Dallas; his mother Laurie Bezner of Hurst; three brothers Sam Bezner of Hurst, Chris Bezner of Midland and Jim Bezner of Savannah, Georgia and one sister Susan Smith of Carrollton. Visitation will be from 6:30 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. with Rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M., Thursday, May 25, 2017 at St. Luke Catholic Church. Scanio-Harper Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
