Funeral services for Billie Sue Alford, 87, of Temple will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, March 21, 2015, at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home with Rev. Billy Koinm officiating. Burial will be in Bellwood Memorial Park. Mrs. Alford died Friday in Troy. Mrs. Alford was born May 3, 1927 to Ruel Johnston and Margaret Burke Johnston. She married Jesse B. Alford Nov. 20, 1950. He preceded her in death August 25, 2013. She was a Registered Nurse and worked for the V.A. Hospital for thirty years. She also volunteered at King's Daughters Hospital. She moved to Temple over sixty years ago from Haileyville, Oklahoma. She was a member of Heights Baptist Church and American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include two daughters Susan Maegden of Troy and Melinda Alford of Austin and four grandchildren. Memorials may be made to Churches Touching Lives for Christ.
