Bill was born to Audice Cleon Metcalf and Mamie Jewel Gaskin-Metcalf on June 17th, 1945, in Knott, TX.
He then married his wife July 24,1967 to Myrtle “Charlene” Capps-Metcalf, together they had four children Bill Wayne, Toby Lee, Freddy Dwayne, and Cindy Jo.
He was a proud supporter of many 4H and FFA booster clubs, he also owned Auto Body Clinic for over 30 years. He aided in starting the Moffat Jaycees and was one of the original founders of the Moffat Volunteer Fire Department. He was also a member of the First Baptist Church of Moffat, where he usually would be found in the last pew with his candy and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Charlene Metcalf of Moffat, Tx. His children Bill Wayne Metcalf and wife Donna of Louisiana, Toby Lee Metcalf and wife Stacy of Troy, TX, and Cindy Jo Honeycutt and husband Richard of Moffat, Tx. He is also survived by his grandchildren Aaron Metcalf and wife Sarah with six children, Dustin Metcalf and wife Jenna with one child, Sarah’s two children, Kayla Underwood and husband Bryan with one child, Brian Honeycutt and wife Madison with three children, Bailey Metcalf and fiancé Shelby with one child, Hailey Metcalf, Trevor Honeycutt, and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Audice Cleon Metcalf and Mamie Jewel Gaskin-Metcalf, His brothers Jesse Lee Metcalf and Carl B “Tob” Metcalf, his sister Ethel Lavern White, his nephew Roy Lee Metcalf, his son Freddy Dwayne Metcalf, his granddaughter Sarah Metcalf, and a few angel babies.
Visitation will be held at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home on February 9, 2024 from 6pm - 8pm. Funeral services will also be held at the Scanio-Harper Funeral Home on February 10, 2024 at 2:00 pm.
His final resting place will be at the Moffat Cemetery following the funeral service.
