
Graveside services for Ben M. Chandler, 74, of Belton will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday October 21, 2006 at Bellwood Memorial Park with James Lefan officiating. Mr. Chandler died Thursday October 19, 2006 at his residence. He was born in Belton to Delbert M. Chandler and Ruth Miller Chandler. He graduated from Temple High School. He married Nellie Hemphill August 1, 1952, and was a member of Avenue T Church of Christ. He started off his professional golf career as a Club Pro at Temple Country Club. He played on the PGA Tour also. As an amateur, he set many course records in the Central Texas area. He also worked in the plastic sign industry as President of his own companies, Lum-A-Nation Plastic and Selective Signs, Inc. Survivors include his wife Nellie Chandler of Belton, three sons Bill Chandler of Belton, Jack Chandler of Temple and Jeff Chandler of Houston; four daughters Jodie Woolley of Temple, Amy Jenschke of Temple, Miki Osborn of Belton and Tammy Thomson of Belton, fourteen grandchildren and nine great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. Friday at Scanio Harper Funeral Home.
