

Anna Jo Mikeska, age 78, of Temple passed away Thursday, November 24, 2011 in a local hospital. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM Monday, November 28, at St. Mary's Catholic Church with Rev. Ranjan Cletus as celebrant. Burial will follow at Bellwood Memorial Park. Visitation will be 4:00 - 6:00 PM Sunday with a rosary at 6:00 PM at Scanio-Harper Funeral Home. Mrs. Mikeska was born January 31, 1933 in Smithville to Charles and Elsie (Psencik) Janak. She was reared and educated in Smithville and attended Our Lady of the Lake in San Antonio. She married Clem Mikeska on September 12, 1965. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church and the Altar Society. Anna Jo was a loving wife, mom, and Nana. She loved to cook and bake. She had a heart for helping others. Her favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Charlene McEachern. Survivors include her husband, Clem Mikeska of Temple, one son, Stephen Mikeska and wife, Angela of Belton, two daughters, Angela Mikeska Conlan and husband, Ray of Georgetown and Anna Mikeska Payne and husband, Troy of Belton. Also surviving is one brother, Charles Janak and wife, Annette of Aldie, Virginia and six grandchildren, Garrett and Madison Conlan, Hank and Blake Payne and Lauren and Sarah Mikeska. Pallbearers are Nick Mikeska, Gerry Mikeska, Tim Mikeska, Mark Mikeska, Chris Janak and Louie Flores. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church.
