Dr. Price died at Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple, Texas, on Sunday, December 8, 2024. He was born on May 26, 1941, in Vernon, Texas, to parents, Thomas and Mary Alice Price. He graduated from Arlington High School in 1959 and from Arlington State College with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 1962. In 1965 he received his Doctor of Medicine Degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. Then in 2006 he received his Masters of Science Degree in Public Rural Health from Texas A&M University.
He married Mary Jo Erskine Woolley from Temple, Texas, on April 26, 2008. He worked in numerous practices with 25 years of private practices in Dallas, along with practices in Colorado and Georgia. He was an Internist who served in multiple leadership roles at the Central Texas Veterans Healthcare System in Temple, Texas. He was the Chief of Primary Care in 1994 with other roles including Chief Medical Officer, Chief of Cardiology, Chief of Employee Occupational Health, and Chief Hospitalist.
Survivors include his wife, Mary Jo Price, brother Lowell Price, daughters Jennifer Stark and life partner Hans Heilmann, Angela Woolley, sons Gary Price and wife Deidre, Robert Woolley and wife Valentina, grandchildren Allison and Sam Walker, Meg and Tommy Conaty, Leslie and K. P. Frazier, Martin and Rebecca Price, Emma Price, Deyana and Jayden Woolley, and five great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Martha Haywood Price, brother Mark Price, nephew Thomas D. Price, nephew Mark Price, Jr., and nephew Stan Haywood.
