Known also as Butch and Rob, Robert graduated from Waterman High School, where he played varsity basketball and other sports. He attended Western Illinois University; there he was an active member of the Phi Epsilon Kappa fraternity and in 1988 obtained a master’s degree in Law Enforcement and Justice Administration.
Robert worked for the Naperville Park Police before relocating to southern Florida working for the Glades County Sheriff's Department and South Bay Florida Public Safety until he joined the Seminole Tribe of Florida Police Force in 2004, initially in south Florida and then re-assignment to the Tampa area. While employed by the Seminole Tribe he became a certified Firearms Instructor.
In his later years, Robert enjoyed time with his daughter and grandsons and the company of his dogs, Lucy and Finn. He had an avid interest in photography and relished trips to the Florida coast and overseas.
Robert is survived by his daughter, Cassara “Cassie” (Glenn) Bronson-McNanna, and grandsons Rhyan, Reid and Remington of Wesley Chapel, Florida; sister Debra, “Debbie” Bronson, of Irving, Texas; niece Jessica Mislevy (Rémi) and grandnephew Luke in Washington, D.C.; niece Meredith (Zachary) Hughes and grandnephews Alexander and Elliot of Severna Park, Maryland; and brother-in-law Robert “Bob” Mislevy of Annapolis, Maryland. He is preceded in death by sister Roberta “Robbie” Mislevy and his parents.
Robert will be laid to rest in the North Clinton cemetery in Waterman, Illinois.
