Rex Edwin Caylor, 89, passed away on August 30, 2023. He was born in Indianapolis on July 23, 1934. In 1952, Rex left Indianapolis and moved to Ft. Lauderdale. In September 1953, he joined the Air Force where he spent 22 years and retired in July 1975 as Master Sargent. From 1975-1982, Rex owned the Southland Roller Skating Rink in Indianapolis. In 1982-1997, he lived in Melbourne, FL where he worked for Harris Corporation as a Security Administrator until he retired. Rex married his beloved wife, Beverly, in 1994. In March of 1997, they moved to St. Petersburg, FL and split their time living in Burnsville, NC. In February of 2003 they moved to Tampa, FL where they resided winter months but continued to enjoy summer months in the beautiful Smokey Mountains of the Burnsville area, which they loved so much. They decided to sell their North Carolina home in November of 2015 to permanently live in Tampa.
Rex is survived by his wife of 28 years, Beverly; children, Rick, Vick, Jim (Angie), and Joan; step-children, Jerry, Diane (Fred), Karen (Don), and Mark; grandchildren, Lee, Jamie, Kyle, Tyler, Eric, Evan, Alec and Ava; four great-grandchildren; brother, Ron; brother in law, John; sister in law, Betty; and many extended family and friends.
