Mike proudly served and retired from the U.S. Marine Corps as a Gunnery Sergeant E-7 for 15 years. He was a Vietnam era Veteran. He also served and retired as a letter carrier for the United States Postal Service for 18 years in Erie PA. He was active through various roles in churches as an Ordained Christian Minister, Sunday School Teacher, and choir member. He loved to cook and share recipes with his family. He was passionate about the Bible, food, computer games, bowling, square dancing, and NASCAR.
Mike is survived by his wife of 48 years, Terry L. Welsh; sons, Michael D. Welsh Jr., husband of Diana, and Shawn C. Welsh; brothers, Thom Welsh, husband of Sowling, and Dale Welsh; sister, Debbie Frey, wife of John; and grandsons, Christian M. Welsh and Noah A. Welsh.
