Charlie was born on November 15, 1948, to William G. Kinsey and Miriam M. Kinsey in Avon Park, Florida. In high school, he played football and had a keen interest in cars and restoring them. A graduate of Chamberlain High School, he married the love of his life, Dorothy S. Kinsey in 1971. After serving his country in the United States Air Force, he worked in various capacities such as grocery store management, The Tampa Tribune sales, and commercial construction before finally pursuing his dream of owning his own business and beginning Kabinets by Kinsey established in 1984. Kabinets by Kinsey has grown to not only serve the Tampa Bay Area, but the entire state of Florida with distinction for over 37 years. He was a life-long member of Temple Heights Baptist Church, eventually serving as the chairman of the deacon board. He enjoyed spending time with his family, travelling, and was a model train enthusiast. Most recently you might find him cheering on the Tampa Bay Lightning. His legacy is his faith, his dedication and faithfulness to his family and his tireless work ethic. People who knew him speak of his generosity, tender heart and love of the Lord his Savior.
He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Dorothy Suzanne Kinsey, his brother, Steve Kinsey, his daughter, Monica Cantrell, Dr. Randy Cantrell, and their daughters Audra and Abby Cantrell, his son, Charles W. Kinsey Jr., Rebekah Kinsey and their children Emily Grace, Ainslee, and Charles Wesley Kinsey III. He is preceded in death by his parents, William and Miriam Kinsey, and his sister, Barbara Kinsey.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 19, at the Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Funeral Home 12690 N. 56th St., Temple Terrace, FL. 33617. Visitation will be at 10 AM and the service at 11 AM. He will be laid to rest at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, FL.
