Candido Davies Meitin Jr. passed away on January 17th, 2021 at the age of 84. His battle with various medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life challenges with a smile. Regardless, Davies came out a hero and stayed strong until the end.
Davies met the love of his life, Joyce (Snipes), while on a hometown break in St Augustine, Florida, from attending The Citadel, in Charleston, SC. It was love at first sight, and they consequently married in 1960, and raised a large, loving family in Temple Terrace, Florida. Together, they had four children, Dana Marie Aley, Marjorie Florence Faircloth, Candido Davies Meitin III (Susan), and Wayne Lewis Meitin (Charisse). Davies and Joyce are also blessed with 9 loving grandchildren, Morgan Lestourgeon (Peter), Rachel Faircloth, Connor Meitin, Tyler Meitin, Monica Meitin, Madelyn Meitin, Brendan Meitin, Cara Meitin and Bryce Meitin.
Davies will be honored with a memorial mass at Corpus Christi Catholic Church in Temple Terrace on Saturday, January 23, 2021. This mass will commence at 10:30 a.m., with a graveside memorial immediately following. Friday, January 22, the family will host a drive by viewing at Blount & Curry Funeral home in Temple Terrace from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. All friends and family are welcome.
