Barbara was a graduate of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary in Louisville, KY. During college, she worked for various churches in their youth and student ministries. She went on to teach at both, King High School and Brandon High School. As a founding member of Mission Hill Church in Temple Terrace, Barbara maintained a lifelong passion for prayer and missions.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Robert Earl Yost and sister, Nellie Allen Wilson. Survivors include her daughter, Achamma Denise Yost Horn, wife of Jeffrey William Horn; brothers, H.L. Allen Jr., husband of Janie; and Rev. James E. Allen; grandchildren, Kendall Allen Horn and Karsyn Leigh Horn; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held Saturday, March 12, 2022, at 11 am at Mission Hill Church. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Barbara's memory to Missions or The FOR Campaign, 10002 N 56th, St., Temple Terrace, FL 33617
