FLETCHER, Alvin Carr, age 83, of Tampa, FL, entered into rest Monday, January 12, 2015. Alvin was born April 4, 1931 in Narrows, VA to his parents, Franklin and Maryann Fletcher. He served in the United States Army during Vietnam, retiring in 1968. Alvin then worked as a mail handler for the United States Postal Service retiring in 2012. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Kay Fletcher; his son, David Fletcher and his sister, Betty Eaton. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., with a service beginning at 3 pm, Saturday, January 17th at Blount & Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, 12690 N. 56th Street, Temple Terrace. Interment will take place in Dublin, VA at a later date.
