Doc worked as a truck driver until receiving his kidney transplant in 2019. He had a very special bond with his grandson, Isaiah, whom he referred to as his "best friend." Isaiah is a gifted baseball player and Doc was heavily involved in all aspects of the game. They also spent a lot of time together fishing and, most recently, roller skating. Doc was also an avid Bucs fan. Above all, Doc was a man of God and loved the Lord.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his siblings, Joseph Montgomery, Willie Montgomery, Patrick Davis, Mildred Davis and Isaiah McDuffie; and his daughter, Olivia Miller.
Doc is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Rochelle McDuffie; son, Anthony Miller, daughter, Sophia Barberio; sisters, Lillie Smith, Mary Butler, Sylvanna Greene and Ruth McDuffie; grandchildren, Gracelyn Prevatte and Isaiah Elston; seven nephews and five nieces.
