Robert Kenneth Ness

Bob was born on April 4, 1944, in Carlsbad, California to parents Frank Ness and Nettie MacLeod Ness.

He was raised there and graduated from Carlsbad High and San Diego State University. After graduation he worked for Rand McNally in their education division.

In 1974 Bob moved his family to Mesa, Arizona, where he continued to work for Rand McNally.

In 1984 he married Linda Davis and they made their home in Mesa, Arizona. He later started Sci-Ma Education, a company that supplied math and science materials to schools all over the country.

Bob was known for his dry sense of humor and crass comments. He was active in assembling friends from Carlsbad High to attend frequent reunion-type gatherings. Bob and Linda spent much of their time at their cabin in Heber, AZ.

Bob is survived by his loving wife Linda, his children Rob Ness and Shawna Shovelin, and his stepsons, Colonel and John Lightfoot. Other survivors include his brother Frank “Hap” Ness and his many grandchildren.
