Charles Leo "Chuck" Daggett - a longtime resident of Phoenix, Arizona was called to be with our Lord on Dec 31st 2019. He was 83 years old. He is survived by his beautiful wife Syble Bernice Daggett, his stepdaughter, Kay Howes, granddaughter Melissa Bublitz, grandsons Dallas Romine, Skyler Romine and Chaz Sinohui, (10) great grandchildren, (1) great great grandchild, his only sibling/brother, Wesley "Butch" Daggett, his niece Pattie Daggett and her children Regina Frausto, Paul Wesley Garcia, Enrique “Henry” Garcia, Ameliana “Jazmine” Garcia, Pattie’s (9) grandchildren, his great niece Sherry Gonzales and her 2 daughters, Calista Gonzales and Amantha Cardenas.
Chuck is predeceased by his parents Leo Daggett, Ann Far and his stepson Timothy Howes.
Chuck was the eldest of two sons born in Chicago, Illinois. For the first part of his childhood, Chuck was raised in South Haven, Michigan. Chuck and Butch loved to play in the snow and hunt rabbits. They also enjoyed fishing off of Butch's flat bottom boat while going down the Black River. Growing up they always had each others backs. Their father, Leo Daggett was a taxi cab driver and their mother, Ann Farr was a homemaker. Ann, moved Chuck to Arizona when he was 15 years old because he suffered from acute asthma. A few years later, Butch hitchhiked to Arizona to find his mom and brother, and that is where they all settled.
One of Chuck's favorite pastimes was baseball. Growing up Chuck was a Chicago White Sox fan and attended baseball games at Comiskey park. After moving to Arizona, he became a devoted Diamondbacks fan.
In August of 1980, Chuck married Syble Bernice Gill, Chuck was a driven, hard worker and was very devoted to his career. He worked for Seaboard Finance as a Director for over 20 years. He was a provider, a devoted husband, stepfather, grandfather, and great grandfather who loved to spend time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Chuck and his wife Syble were also very well known in their church, The Pentecostals of Phoenix. He loved attending Sunday service with Syble and had a deep, strong faith.
Chuck had a sharp wit, feisty personality and was full of life! He had an "energy" about him. Everyone "took" to him. He was always positive and brightened up a room with his personality and big blue eyes. He loved to laugh, but especially enjoyed making other people laugh. Even up until the end.
Chuck loved selling and buying at the swap meet on Washington Street. For several years, he spent many weekends there with his good friend Bob. Boy was Chuck a negotiator! Everyone knew him there.
For the past 14 years, Chuck continuously dealt with heart problems. Nevertheless, he had a very strong will and made all the nurses, doctors, staff, and other patients smile. Chuck spent the last seven months of his life in assisted living at Brookdale Chandler with his wife Syble. Never once did he complain about leaving his home with his wife after 35 years. All he asked for was for him and Syble to be together. Chuck came to the realization that maintaining a home and trying to care for Syble was just too much for him to endure with his rapidly deteriorating health. But he diligently tried.
Chuck made the best out of every situation and always remained positive and in good spirits. He spent the last few months of his life celebrating the holidays at his niece Pattie's home around his brother and family. He was so happy visiting, eating, drinking COKE, and laughing with everyone. We never imagined it would come to an end so quickly on New Year's Eve. This is how Chuck will always be remembered. He was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by everyone, but never forgotten.
Chuck's wish was to be cremated. There will be (2) separate Celebration of Life Services held with the main church service on:
