Allen Grant Cutler died peacefully, July 19, 2017 in Glendale, Arizona, at the age of 95. Allen was born 20 May 1922 in Portland Oregon, where he spent his growing years. He was the son of Mary E. (nee Reddick) (Cutler) Ross, of Portland and Tillamook Oregon, and Allen D. Cutler. Allen lived in San Rafael and Fairfax, California, for many years and taught school there. He moved to Arizona in 2013. A WWII Veteran, 2nd Lieutenant in the Infantry, he was wounded in the Battle of the Bulge for which he received a Purple Heart and a Bronze Star. He enjoyed sail boating, woodworking (he built two sailboats in his garage), golf, flying, teaching middle school and Flight Ground School in San Rafael, as well as spending time with his many friends and family. Survivors include his sons Timothy Allen Cutler (and wife Nancy), of Scottsdale AZ, Christopher David Cutler (and wife Nora) of Mesa, AZ and his daughter, Patricia Jean Cutler of Robbins, California; also five grandchildren, seven great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. Two wives predeceased him; Barbara Gail McDiarmid and Patricia Baxter. A celebration of Allen’s life was held in Arizona.
