David Griffith, 70, of Tekonsha, passed away Monday, April 21, 2014 at Select Specialty Hospital in Battle Creek. He was born January 13, 1944 in Garrett, Kentucky to Richard and Oma (Conley) Griffith. He married Janet S. Slone November 23, 1961 in Burlington. She survives.
David was an engineer at Trim Parts of Marshall. He owned D & D Convenience store (now BP Station) and D & D Auto & Towing, retiring in 2012. David loved fishing, car races, especially NASCAR, gardening (he had 1 acre), attending church on Sunday and all of his family.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Sue, 1 daughter; Theresa (Jeremie) Cole of Colon, 2 grandchildren; Ashley Goyman, Troy Cole, 1 great grandson, Braxton Cook, brothers; Arnold, Henry, Jerry, Bob, Larry Griffith, sisters; Fay VanZandt and Barbara Pritchard. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Angela, brothers; Rondall, Rayful, James and a sister, Nadine.
Visitation will be Wednesday, April 23, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Putnam’s of Tekonsha. Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 24, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Putnam’s of Tekonsha with Elder Morris Wicker and Elder Shawn Hicks officiating. Interment will be at Riverside Cemetery in Tekonsha.
