Mary Eileen Wiseman-Russell, "Grams", 74, of New Tazewell, TN. gave up her fight with cancer to be with the Lord on Wednesday, October 21, 2020. She peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones at her daughter's home in Speedwell, TN.
Mary was born on June 25, 1946 in Trenton, MI. to Almond and Eudora (Laboe) Wiseman. She graduated in 1964 from Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte, MI. Mary retired from Walmart in 2017 as a sales associate. She loved her job and took pride in it for 12 years. Mary knew the Lord and took him as her savior and was baptized at a young age. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Almond and Eudora Wiseman and son-in-law, Nathan Wesley Miracle. She is greatly missed by former husband and great friend, Jerry Russell, Sr. of New Tazewell, TN., son, Jerry Russell, Jr. and (wife) Gina of Monroe, MI., daughters, Monica and (husband) Shawn Patterson of Speedwell, TN., and Melissa Miracle of Tazewell, TN., extended children she loved and thought of as her own, Marshall Russell of Middlesboro, KY., Patra Helka of Brownstown Charter Township, MI., and Garrett Johnston of Tazewell, TN. Grandchildren: Zane Russell, Elora Russell, Jessica Brown, Makitia Miracle and Matt Rouse, Rebekah Miracle and Andrew Roy, Tiffanie and (husband) Jordan Ledford, Sarah Miracle, Jacob and (wife) Kasey Miracle, Julia Miracle, and Alexis Bunch. Great-Grandchildren: Braydon Miracle, Ivan Rouse, Adalee Rouse, Emma Ledford, Bryston Cook, Amaya Ledford, Jeremiah Ledford, and Ryker Howerton. VERY special friends: Retha Sorter, Barb Charlton, Jennifer Fitzgerald, Dora Blevins, and a host of many other family members and friends. Mary was greatly cared for by Amedysis staff: Abigail Hampton, Beverly Webb, Garland Long, and Martha Davis. The family is thankful for all their care!!
Mary was a very caring, strong-minded and strong-willed woman. She was a free-spirited woman who was loved by many. She never met a stranger and she loved people. Mary worked hard throughout her life and always done her best. She always tried to be happy and make others smile; through all life's troubles, she remained strong and positive. Mary, "Grams", wanted us to try to be happy and grateful for all the time God gave her, for she was very blessed and thankful for the time, the love, and all the memories she had with us. A lady of Great Character whose judgement, humor, and friendly spirit brought out the finest in those around her. The influence of her life upon others is a flame that will burn brightly forever. She left so much good with every soul she touched on the earth.
The family wants to Thank EVERYONE for the prayers and donations. Thank you to everyone who loved and cared for Mary throughout her life and especially in her darkest times.
A memorial for Mary will be held by the family at a later date.
