Mr. Claude Mallicoat, age 93, of Tazewell, TN passed away on March 22, 2016 at the Claiborne Medical Center. He was born on September 30, 1922 to the late Rev. Herbert and Minnie Mallicoat. He professed faith in Christ at age 13 and became a member of Cedar Springs Baptist Church of Thorn Hill, where he was ordained as deacon and served as church clerk. He later moved his letter to the Liberty Baptist Church in Tazewell. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Anna Belle Mallicoat, infant brother, David Franklin, brothers-in-law Andy Buchanan, Ralph, John and Ray Nunn, sisters-in law Edna Ramsey, Bettie Parkey and Faye Gose, nephews Rev. David Mallicoat and Mitch Nunn, niece Dianna Mallicoat.
Claude is survived by his daughters, Mary Jo (Dale) Brogan; Karen (Robert) Hurst. Granddaughters: Candice Brogan and Kasey Hurst. Great-grandson: Carter. Brother and sister-in-law, Ford and Pauline Mallicoat. Sister: Bonnie Buchanan. Sisters-in-law: Laura Ramsey, Anna Mae Nunn and Grace Nunn. Several nieces and nephews and a host of other family and friends and a Very Special Family Friend, Kat.
The family will receive friends from 5 until 9 p.m. Thursday, March 24, 2016 at Coffey Funeral Home in Tazewell. Funeral service will be 2 p.m. Friday at Coffey Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Kenny Clark, Rev. Lonnie D. Dalton and James Welch officiating. Music provided by Barbara Hatfield and Rev. Jeremy Buchanan. Burial to follow at Liberty Cemetery with Rev. Jeremy Buchanan officiating.
Pallbearers: Clark Nunn, Tom Nunn, Allen Parkey, Tony Mallicoat, Todd Mallicoat, Kendall Nunn, Aaron Brogan and Dennis Buchanan.
