Annie (Mackey) Scearce “Grannie” age 87 of Morristown, TN was born August 14, 1926 and went to be with our Lord and Savior on August 5, 2014. She was born in Hancock County to a large family of 7 brothers and 2 sisters. She lived there until her marriage to Coy Scearce in 1943. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and attended Povidence Baptist Church. She was a wonderful Mother and Grandmother and called “Grannie” by everyone that knew her. She was spunky and witty with a loving heart and generous spirit. She loved nuts; cracking hundreds of pounds of Black Walnuts and Pecans during the Winter months just to give away. She liked to garden and process home-grown food, read, do word search puzzles, shop for antiques and travel. She so loved to travel that she went to Germany twice to see her grandson in the military at the age of 82 and out West at the age of 84. Grannie lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Sanford Harville, for 36 years. She was always surrounded by some or all of her family, consisting of 8 grandsons which gave her 15 great grandchildren. They were the light of her life. We are blessed that she was allowed to remain with us for almost 88 years. She will be greatly missed by her family and special friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Coy and son James (Sass); parents William and Laura Mackey; brothers Jep, Clay, Jim, Claude, George, Bill and Knox Mackey; sisters Dolly Mackey and Maude Wolfe.
