Tenny was born in Belton on February 21, 1947 to (the late Hugh and Jonnell (Whitley) Taggart. She graduated from Belton High School in 1965 and continued on to receive an Associate’s degree from X-Ray Technician School in Dallas. She married Robert Swonke on October 10, 2015; they were married for 9 years.
She worked as an X-Ray tech in Dallas and the VA hospital in Temple for several years before moving on to work for the Bell County Tax Appraisal District where she finished out her 20+ year career. Tenny enjoyed arts and crafts, cooking, catering delicious meals for large crowds and family, dancing, and above all spending quality time with her friends and family. She was also actively involved in the First United Methodist Church in Taylor and the Bell County Rodeo Association of Belton.
Tenny is survived by her husband Robert Swonke; daughter Kaci Lewis; step children Missie Crews (Clayton), Richard Lewis (An), Roger Swonke, Kristina Chavana (Frank); sister Terry Taggart; brothers John Taggart, Jay Taggart (Leah), and Jeff Taggart; grandchildren Sloan Crews, Connor Crews, Jordan Lewis, Trevor Lewis, Sienna Lewis, Anthony Chavana, Adelina Chavana; many cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tenny is preceded in death by her grandparents, parents, and infant son Robin Lewis Arrott.
A visitation will be held on Thursday January 2, 2025 from 6pm-8pm at Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Graveside services will be held on Friday January 3, 2025 at 11am at N. Belton Cemetery in Belton, TX.
