Michael ‘jerky man’ Allen Hudson born on December 5, 1948 in Kokomo, Indiana to William & Ruth ( Kelly ) Hudson. After graduating high school he enlisted in the Navy on August 16, 1968. Mike served his country for 8 years and was Honorably discharged as an E2 Medical Technician, he also served with the Marines 3rd Division in Okinawa. Most of his career has been in the medical field as a medical technician, he was employed and retired from Brackenridge Hospital and Baylor Scott & White.
He married Margaret Rivas Galban on February 25, 1989 in Austin, Texas. They retired in 2000 and moved to Thorndale where they cared for her parents, Frank and Josephine Galban until their death. He spent most of his retired time making jerky and for that, was best known around town as ‘jerky man’. Mike was a coin collector, he loved collecting all types of coins, special edition coins and commemorative coins; something he wanted to pass on to his grandchildren. He was a huge Green Bay Packers fan.
Mike is survived by his wife, Margaret Hudson who he was married to for 30 years. He has a step-daughter, Mary Alice Galban-Cass and her husband, David. He has two grandchildren, Coy Cass and his fiancé, Elisabeth Dowling and Laramie Cass, all of Caldwell.
