Mary Ann was born on October 21, 1930, in Taylor, to Annie (Zgarba) and Frank Gola. She married Allen J. Urbanek on December 27, 1948, and they had five beloved children.
Mary Ann was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. She had the kindest heart and was always giving to others and praying for them. Her attention to individual needs made everyone feel valued.
Mary Ann worked hard both at home and in the Taylor community. In addition to helping her husband on the farm and raising their children, she sewed clothes at Fashions and worked in the dietary at Johns Community Hospital. She also enjoyed cooking, gardening, and taking care of the animals on the farm where she lived.
Mary Ann was preceded in death by her parents, Annie and Frank Gola; her brother Frank Gola, Jr., and her husband, Allen J. Urbanek.
She is survived by her children, Douglas Urbanek and wife, Rebecca; Shirley Flippin and husband, Larry, Sr.; Michael Urbanek and wife, Bonnie; Marilyn Machu and husband, Johnnie L.; and Patricia Steffek; eleven grandchildren; and eleven great-grandchildren
She is also survived by her brother Albert Gola and wife, Patricia; and her sister, Amalie Rozacky, and husband, Edward.
Pallbearers were Douglas Urbanek, Michael Urbanek, Larry Flippin, Sr., Larry Flippin, Jr., James Thomas Flippin, Brent Steffek, Shannon Newsom and Joshua Ransom. Honorary Pallbearers will be her Grandchildren and Great- Grandchildren.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the Will-O-Bell Nursing Home staff and Baylor Scott & White Hospice.
Heaven has welcomed home this beautiful lady who will be deeply missed by her loved ones.
Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, 2019, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Taylor. Interment followed at St. Mary’s Cemetery.
