Lydia was born September 5, 1928 in Granger, Texas to Josef and Marie (Doubrava) Jezisek, the youngest of five girls. On November 4, 1946, she married Ted A. Pekar and together they began their farming and ranching operation and raised five children. Lydia was a lifelong member of SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church where she was a member of the Senior Choir and the Altar Society. She was a member of the KJZT and served as an officer in several positions. She was also a member of the Parent Teacher Club of SSCM Catholic School.
She is survived by her children, Gladys Kaderka of Mason; Terry W. Pekar and wife, Betty; James M. Pekar and wife Pam; and Lenard J. Pekar and wife, Rebecca, all of Granger; a son-in-law, Michael Roasa of Holland; eleven grandchildren and twelve great-grandsons.
She was predeceased by her husband, Ted A. Pekar; a daughter, Karen P. Roasa; a son-in-law, Gus Kaderka; a grandson, Kalan T. Kaderka; her parents and sisters.
Visitation will be Wednesday, November 5, from 5 to 8 p.m. with Rosary beginning at 7 p.m. at the Condra Funeral Home in Taylor. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, November 6, at 10 a.m. at SS Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Granger with Father Chris Ferrer officiating. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Granger.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons Terry Lee Pekar, Todd Pekar, Kelly R. Kaderka. Matthew Pekar, Lance Roasa and Garrett Pekar. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Serena Kaderka Kerr, Kylie Kaderka Blume, Lane Roasa Arrendell, Tera Pekar and Lauren Pekar.
