He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Spiers; his brother, William Allen Spiers of Texarkana, TX; his three sons, Joe Day Spiers and Wife Nancy of Quitman, TX, Michael Anthony Spiers and wife Nancy of Mobile, AL, and James McRobert Spiers of Shiloh, TX; his four daughters, Marguerite P. Surginer and husband Claude of Cleaburne, TX, Florence Rose Parker and husband David of Pritchett, TX, Katherine Ann Meyer and Husband Bruce of Thorndale, TX, and Andrea Lynn Smith and husband Damon of Waldon, AR; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 29, 2013 form 12pm- 4pm at the Sirloin Stockade in Taylor, TX
