Eunice Holland Hansen
Eunice Holland Hansen passed away Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2017, just one day before her 97th birthday. Eunice was the daughter of Edgar and Annie Holland and born in Roscoe, on Feb. 23, 1920.
She lived, grew up and finished high school in Buffalo (Texas).
On June 6, 1951, she married Harold Edward Hansen and began her career as a military officer’s wife and began a life that took her from Wahiawa, Hawaii to Portsmouth, New Hampshire. She loved every minute of it.
When Hal retired from the Air Force, they settled in Shreveport, Louisiana. Eunice continued her volunteerism that she had begun as an Air Force wife. She served as a Red Cross hospital volunteer, as the Altar Guild Chairman for Holy Trinity Lutheran Church for 25 years, taught first communion and confirmation and served as a Sunday school teacher.
She was also an avid golfer, bridge player and reader.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, her brothers Clyde and Wallace Holland and her grandson Christopher Parks.
She is survived by her children Carole Douglas Hall, Barbara Fiaccone (Bill), and Hal Hansen, Jr. (Brenda). She was “Nana” to her grandchildren Maria Parks, Stephan Parks, Sarah Williamson (Tom Gilbert) and David Williamson (Jessica); Trey Baker (Emily) and Mandy (Coby) Jones; and her great-grandchildren John Swiatek ( Hanne) ; Christopher, Michael John and Ryan Parks; Oliver Hansen Williamson: Rylee and Garrett Baker and Paxton and Finnly Jones.
Graveside services will be held on Monday, Feb. 27, at 2 p.m. at the Buffalo cemetery.
