Betty, born July 17, 1923 in San Antonio, TX, passed away January 20th, 2019 in Round Rock, TX.
Betty married Homer Ashworth in March of 1946 in McAllen, TX where he owned Ashworth Plumbing and she taught science and math in the McAllen ISD. Together they raised 6 children and taught them the love of nature.
Betty was a dedicated volunteer with the Valley Nature Center in Weslaco and an active member of the United Methodist Church in McAllen. She moved to Taylor, Texas in 1998 to be closer to her children and continued to serve the church there.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Homer; her son, Homer, Jr.; and her grandson, James Dalton Ashworth. She is survived by her sons; Pat Ashworth, Robert Ashworth, and Arthur Ashworth; her daughters, Ruth Pigg and Mary Hoch; as well as numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Valley Nature Center in Weslaco or the First United Methodist Church in Taylor, TX.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday January 23, 2019 from 6pm-8pm at Condra Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held on Thursday January 24, 2019 at 2pm at Condra Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Taylor City Cemetery.
