Dolores Marie Bachmeyer Woelfel was born to Joe and Ella Bachmeyer on July 27, 1932. On November 27, 1952 she married Verner Monroe Woelfel. She was a farmer’s wife for 57 years. In her early years she worked at Zieschang’s Café, Taylor Meat, and Sirloin Stockade. She was well known for her homemade bread, coffee cake, tamales and milk rice. Her hobbies included sewing bonnets, aprons and much more; gardening, tending to her chickens and word finds. Dolores was kind hearted, anyone who visited her home would leave with eggs, cookies or a plate of sweets.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband Monroe; parents, Joe and Ella; brother, Marvin Bachmeyer; brother-in-law, Franklin Peschel; grandson, William Preusse; and son-in-law, Alfred Preusse.
She is survived by her children, Beverly Preusse, Carol Simms and husband Danny, Janet Cmerek and husband Lynn, Edward Woelfel and wife Stephanie. 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held at Christ Lutheran Church in Noack, Texas form 10am-11am on Friday January 17th. A celebration of life will follow the visitation at 11am. Burial will be held at Taylor City Cemetery.
