She was born on July 30, 1939 in Taylor, Tx. to Albert and Edna (Wolbrueck) Strmiska. She attended elementary school at Friendship and graduated from Taylor High School in 1958.
In 1961, Alice married Alvin Marek. Together they had three sons, Harold, David and Kenneth. Alice worked in the family granary and gin business and often brought meals to the family out in the fields. Her sons loved her dearly and she loved them the same. In her life, she loved cooking a great meal for her family, spending time with her family and friends, flower and vegetable gardening, taking care of the family pets and would not turn down a waltz or a polka dance! Alice had the most beautiful smile and loved doing for others. Alice married Joe Tschoerner and resided in Schwertner until becoming a resident at Will-O-Bell nursing home.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Joe, sister, Rosalie Lefner, and brother-in-law Edmond Lefner. She is survived by former husband Alvin Marek, children Harold Marek (Deborah), David Marek (René), and Kenneth Marek (Deanna), grandchildren Keaton Marek, Michael Bayer (Mikka Dee), Amber Elliot , great-grandchildren Alexavier, Alyssia, and Ashlyn Martinez, her sister Betty Inman (Bobby), nephews Clayton Lefner (Patty), Michael Lefner (Kimberly), Stephen Lefner (Lynsey), and nieces Angela Inman, grandnephews Weston Lefner, James Lefner, Brycen Lefner, grandnieces Claire Berry (Cameron), Jessica Mladenka (Brian), and great grandniece Adelina Berry
Serving as pallbearers are Keaton Marek, Clayton Lefner, Michael Lefner, Stephen Lefner, Brycen Lefner and Brian Mladenka.
Honorary pallbearer is Angela Inman.
Visitation will be on Friday, September 11, 2020 from 6:00P.M. until 8:00P.M. at Condra Funeral Home, Taylor, TX.
Rosary will be on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1:30P.M. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Taylor, TX.
Graveside service will be held following the rosary at 2:00P.M. at Taylor City Cemetery.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, space will be limited at the rosary and graveside services and social distancing/face-mask guidelines will be followed.
Memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Taylor, Tx.
