Friday, September 12, 2014. Agnes was born October 18, 1922 in Granger, TX to Frank and
Marie Kurtin Michalek. Agnes married Jessie Stojanik on November 5, 1946 in Granger, TX where
they lived and raised three daughters.
Agnes was a member of S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Altar Society and KJZT in Granger, TX .
Agnes regularly attended S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic School in Granger, TX. During WWII, she worked at an aircraft factory in Ft. Worth, TX, and for over 20 years she worked for and retired as a supervisor at Genesco Clothing Factory in Temple, TX. Agnes loved quilting, gardening, fishing, feeding the birds, bowling, taroks, poker, dominoes, and bingo. After moving to Park Place Care Center, Agnes met new friends and participated in many group activities, including the annual senior games at University of Texas.
Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Michalek and loving husband Jessie.
She is also preceded in death by her brothers, Frank Michalek, Jr., Anton Michalek, Joe Michalek and Johnny Michalek; sisters, Mary Knapek, Hattie Klepac, Frances Klepac.
Agnes is survived by her loving daughters, Sharon Arimes (Billy) of Round Rock, TX; Donna Reid (James) of Porter, TX; Gayle Meier (Hurley) of Portland, TX; her cherished grandchildren, Jessie Meier (Twyla), Joy McCool (Brian), Holly Smith, Shane Smith and Jason Smith; great-grandchildren, Bailey McCool, Jared, Jayden and Jace Meier; five step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren.
She is also survived by her loving sisters, Georgia Mikulencak of Granger, TX and Evelyn Demirsu of
Lafayette, LA; sister-in-laws Sybil Stojanik of San Antonio; Alice Stojanik of Thorndale; many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-8 p.m., Wednesday, September 17, with rosary being recited at 7 p.m. at Condra Funeral Home, Taylor, TX. Celebration of Life Mass will be held 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 18, at S.S. Cyril & Methodius Catholic Church, Granger, TX, with Father Christopher Ferrer officiating. Burial will follow at the Holy Cross Cemetery, Granger, TX.
The family would like to thank the staff of Park Place Care Center and Hospice in Georgetown, TX, for the loving care they gave our Mother.
