William Angel Rodriguez, age 88, of Wesley Chapel, Florida has passed, and is now reunited with Eveline, his beloved wife of over 50 years, as well as his mother, Rosa; and father, William. He is survived by his daughters, Eveline and husband, Ralph Roque, Rebecca and husband, Cory Dempsey; son, William and wife, Marie Rodriguez; brother, Daniel. In addition, his, and our mom’s, legacy is continued in the form of seven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, of which he was so very, very proud, and he loved without measure.
During his time, he was an Air Force Medic, a musician, a singer, and an actor, but the job he was most proud of, (other than the role of Dad, Tata, and friend, of course), was Teacher. He was a band director for over 30 years in the Hillsborough County School System, running the gamut from Elementary School to High School. His dedication to teaching, and his exacting standards, helped countless students in a myriad of ways. He loved every one of them.
He will certainly be missed, but always respectfully, and lovingly, remembered. Our family would like to deeply thank all those who cared for him in his final months. Specifically, the staff at the James A. Haley Veterans Hospital, both in the main hospital and the hospice unit, the kind Nursing staff at his memory care center, and every single other Medical professional, of every stripe, who cared for, and respected him, throughout his struggle.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Monday, November 18, 2019 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories, interment to follow in Myrtle Hill Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, our family respectfully requests that friends and family donate to any charity that looks to help those less fortunate than we have been. It is what he would have wanted.
