William Davis

Davis, William “Skip” 92, of Temple Terrace passed away peacefully on Tuesday December 19, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. Born in Mercer, PA., he served in the Navy during WWII and then graduated from Westminster College. Skip was a longtime resident of Temple Terrace. A Charter Member of the Temple Terrace Golf and Country Club, he served as Club President for several Terms. He enjoyed volunteering at the local Senior PGA Golf Tournament and in 2000, he was selected as the Senior PGA Tour Volunteer of the Year. Skip had a successful career with Maas Brothers, beginning as an Executive Management Trainee in 1955 and retiring 33 years later as Senior Vice President of Personnel. He was predeceased by his beloved wife of 55 years, Mary Strosser Davis. He is survived by his children, Lynda Davis, Emrys Davis (Yvonne) and Chris Davis; four grandchildren, Sara Davis (Jeff Shelton), Savannah Davis, John Davis (Brenda) and Emilio Alvarez, many great-grandchildren, and his best friend and sweetheart of 14 years, Rachel Nasrallah. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 from 5-7 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4207 E. Lake Avenue Tampa, FL. Funeral service will take place on Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at 3pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home with interment to follow.
