M.Sgt. William Charles Bradley, III of Tampa, FL passed away peacefully on July 28, 2024. Born April 26, 1946, in Detroit, MI. He led a life that was filled with travel, laughter, service, love, and some sorrow. Brad is preceded in death by his wife Karen (Parker) Bradley, parents Margaret and William C. Bradley, II, sisters Lisa Robillard and Susan Bradley, and brother Rick Bradley. He had an affinity for classic cars and rebuilding them. His love of books and puzzles was a family trait that was passed on to his daughter and granddaughter. His friends and coworkers in the U.S. Army and U.S. Air Force knew him as Brad. During his time of service, he received; Meritorious Service Medal, AF Commendation Medal, AF Outstanding Unit Award (5 devices), Vietnam Service Medal, AF Overseas Short Tour Ribbon, AF Overseas Long Tour Ribbon, Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Gallantry Cross w/ Device, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. He retired from the Air Force after a 20-year career.
Brad shared his life with his wife of 43 years. Sgt. Karen Jean Bradley was born March 22, 1952, in Nashua, NH. She passed away September 24, 2012, in Tampa, FL. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and her time at the beach with her granddaughter Amanda. Serving in the United States Air Force was one of her major life achievements along with raising her daughter Michelle. A soul so kind, gentle, and understanding that the night sky lost some of its shine twelve years ago when her light was extinguished. Although she left us way too early her kindness continues its long-lasting impact. She cared for both her mother and mother-in-law until their final moments to ensure comfort and compassion. She always had an open heart and an open door if anyone was ever in need. Karen and Bill Bradley had the address and phone number you could always count on to welcome you home. She is survived by her sister Brenda (Parker) Merrick and brother Tim Parker.
They were always available and encouraging towards their daughter Michelle Bradley and their granddaughter Amanda (Bradley) Coleman.
They will both be buried in Florida National Cemetery at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations to Samaritans Purse and Smile Train would be appreciated.
