Tate, Virginia S., 90, of Lutz passed away on Mother's Day, May 14, 2017. God called home one of his brightest angels. Virginia lived her life to the fullest. She loved spending time with family and friends. She was always the life of the party with her quick wit and sense of humor. There was not a stranger she met that she did not know their life story by the time they parted. She was a devout Catholic and raised her children to be kind, respectful, charitable, and patriotic. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 59 years, Herbert R. Tate Sr. and her beloved son, Robert Daniel Tate. Survivors include her children, Virginia McGregor (Pat) of Venice, Herbert R. Tate Jr., (Jari) of Odessa, Brian P. Tate of Charlotte, NC, Margaret M. Shaw of Las Vegas, NV, John M. Tate of Tampa, Elizabeth Tate Orzepowski (David) of Lutz, Teresa Tate Crouch (Carl) of St. Petersburg, Stephen M. Tate (Beth) of Odessa, and David C. Tate of Palm Harbor; 18 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 6-8pm on Thursday, May 18 at the Blount and Curry, West Hillsborough/Oldsmar Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr, Tampa. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10am on Friday, May 19 at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Philippe Pkwy, Safety Harbor followed by procession to Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
