Virgilio Rivera

Virgilio Rivera passed away peacefully on July 9, 2024 at the age of 85. He was born in Comerio, Puerto Rico to Ramon Rivera & Rosa Rodriguez. Throughout his life, Virgilio was known for being a beloved and loyal husband, father, grandfather, pastor, and friend. He touched the lives of many through serving his country in the U.S. Army and as an ordained minister serving the Lord and his community for over 50 years.

Virgilio’s greatest joy was his family and building the Kingdom of God. He will be remembered for his commitment to the Lord and to his family. His legacy lives on through his family.


Virgilio is survived by his wife, Juana Rivera, and his living children:

Arnaldo Mejias, husband of first born daughter Evelyn Mejias who he has joined in Heaven.

Aida Hernandez; Carmen Rivera; Virgilio Rivera Jr.; Migna Figueroa; Aurea Rivera; Marisda Guerrero; and Jimmy Rivera.

In addition to 75 grand children, great grand children, and great-great grand children.

He will be dearly missed by his loved ones

A memorial service will be held at the Gonzalez Funeral Home on July 18, 2024 where friends and family are invited to come together in honor of Virgilio’s life and legacy.


In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to his wife, Juana Rivera, for comfort and care.
