Hoffman, Victor Thomas, 72 passed away Saturday, March 3, 2018. Victor was born on May 7, 1945 and was known as Tampa’s VE baby. He was named Victor because he was born on the day, and closest to the hour of Victory over Europe. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Ena Hoffman. Victor graduated from Hillsborough High in 1963, where he excelled in playing basketball and baseball. He went on to play basketball at the University of Florida and was a true Florida Gator fan, and never to be seen without wearing a Gator shirt or hat. Victor took great pride in his 35 year career at Tampa Electric. He began his career in the Line Department and later retired as Supervisor of Skills Training. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Eileen; daughter, Kimberly Caso; son, Scott Hoffman; and daughter in law, Lisa. The greatest loves of his life are his grandchildren, Chelsea Caso, Carson Caso, Julia Hoffman and Addison Hoffman. He is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen Chappell, Jackie Reeves and husband Skeeter, Patty Haywood and husband Rick; brother in law, Elio Perez; his extended family, Andy Caso and his 5 nephews, 2 nieces, as well as many dear life long friends. Victor’s greatest accomplishment was building the family home. He enjoyed working on all wood craft projects and was known for repairing most any thing for his family and friends. His greatest happiness was spending time with his grandchildren and watching them in their many activities. He and his wife Eileen enjoyed traveling with friends and especially watching their son Scott coach baseball at Wharton High School, never missing any games. He will be greatly missed by his loving family and many dear cherished friends. A funeral mass will be held on Monday, March 12th at 11:00am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on North Boulevard, followed by a Celebration of Life in the Social Hall.
