Mr. Timothy F Mee

MEE, Timothy F., 76, of Odessa passed away April 25, 2018. He was born on November 19, 1941 to Ambrose and Irene (McClellan) Mee in Detroit, MI. He lived in East Paterson, New Jersey where he attended St. Anne’s Elementary and Pope Pius High School. For five years he was a member of St. Vincent’s Drum and Bugle Corp of Bayonne, NJ. He went on to attend Pace University where he met Val at the ‘Getting to Know You’ Hop, first dance at Pace. They married on July 20, 1963. He graduated Pace University in 1964 and built his own agency for State Farm Insurance in Plainview, NY attaining many honors within the company. Retiring in 2000, Tim and Val became snowbirds in Sugar Hill, New Hampshire and Odessa, Florida eventually settling full time in Odessa.

His hobbies were many-basketball coach for Smithtown YMCA, a boat owner, and golfer-owner of a hole on one- what a day that was. Then there was camping. They toured the US and Canada many times, took up camping with motor homes recently.

Tim is survived by his 2 sisters, Maureen Ringressy of Virginia Beach, VA and Kathleen Horn of Lincoln, IL; his brother, Laurence Mee of Tampa, FL; and many many nieces and nephews scattered.

Life has its ups and downs. Married for almost 55 years, Tim and Val had 3 children, Timothy Jr., (deceased), Theresa, and Timothy A Mee of New York as well as 7 grandchildren, Casey Walsh, Joseph Walsh, Emily Mee, Jonathan Mee, Mason Mee, Luke Mee, and Alex Mee. As sick as he was, Tim made the trip to Mobile, Alabama on March 3 to attend the White Coat Ceremony for granddaughter, Dr. Casey Walsh. Boy, was he proud!!!

Family will receive friends from 7-9pm on Sunday, April 29 at the Blount & Curry, Oldsmar/West Hillsborough Chapel, 6802 Silvermill Dr, Tampa. A funeral service will be held at 10am on Monday, April 30 at Keystone United Methodist Church, 16301 Racetrack Road, Odessa followed by burial at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, Clearwater at 12:15pm.
