Tampa, Florida — Steven Christopher Catone, aged 57, of Tampa, passed away on April 27, 2024, following a courageous battle with cancer. Born on September 20, 1966, at Camp Darby in Livorno, Italy to Gloria and Robert Catone. Steve lived a life marked by his dedication to and love for his family and closest friends.
Steve was a passionate fan of Florida State University football, having graduated from FSU’s college of business in 1988. He cherished his lifelong friendships with his Sigma Alpha Epsilon fraternity brothers. Steve made it a tradition to return to the campus annually to attend games, and he recruited the children of neighbors, family, and friends to attend his beloved alma mater.
Steve was known for his vibrant and outgoing personality, capable of lighting up any room he entered. He was always quick with a joke or ready to share a laugh. A lover of travel and fine art, Steve also enjoyed exploring new restaurants and heavy metal music.
As a professional, Steve worked in the aesthetic industry for over twenty years. Most recently, he was employed by Aesthetic Management Partners serving as the Executive Vice President of the company. He was regarded by his colleagues as dedicated, knowledgeable, and as the man who transcended professional relationships into personal friendships.
Above all, Steve was profoundly proud of his family. He adored his wife, his partner and best friend for over 31 years, and cherished his two children, taking immense pride in their choice to attend his alma mater. As a devoted brother and uncle, Steve loved spending time boating or attending football games with his family, creating lasting memories together.
Steve is survived by his loving spouse, Wendy; his children, Kendall and Anthony; his father, Robert; and his siblings, Kimberly and Patrick and niece & nephews Sarah, Zachary, and Ethan Cash. He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Gloria, and his aunt, Barbara.
A memorial service for Steve will be held at 2:00PM EST on Friday May 17th, 2024 at Christ the King Catholic Church followed by a Celebration of Life at Blount & Curry Life Event Center 605 S. MacDill Ave. Tampa, FL. from 3:00PM to 7:00PM with a time of reflection at 3:30PM. Garnet & Gold attire encouraged. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the MD Anderson Cancer Center.
