Stephen A. Maltezos, of Tampa passed away Sunday, January 22, 2017. He was 81. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 30, 1935, the son of the late Stavros and Katina (Cokins) Maltezos. He was a was a salesman by trade and described by those who knew him as “ a nice guy.” He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle and friend to all he met. He loved cars , action figures, movies and books. He was preceded in death by his brother, Nicholas Maltezos and his wife Helen. Survivors include his wife Helen of 60 years, son Chris Maltezos, daughter Kathy Kaburis (George), grandson Mihail Kaburis and many nieces, nephews and friends. The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. at Gonzalez Funeral Home, 7209 N. Dale Mabry Hwy, Tampa, Florida 33614. Trisagion Service will take place at 7:00 p.m. The funeral will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 9:30 a.m. at St. John’s Greek Orthodox Church, Tampa, FL. Internment, Garden of Memories Cemetery in Tampa.
