I still miss you everyday, my dear friend.  I miss laughing with and at you.  Your story's were always hilarious, especially the one's from my parties... You will live forever in my heart.  Rest in peace.  Until we meet again, please keep watching over me. 🙏💚☀️✌️

Funerals are important rituals.  They don't just recognize that a life has ended; they recognize that a life was lived.
And that is exactly what my Uncle Stevie did.
He lived.
He laughed.
And he strived to make everyone else laugh too.
He was always the comedian in the room.
The jokester.
So I figured what better way to honor his life than to share with you all, some of my funniest memories of him.
From the time I could barely walk, it was his mission in life to torture me.
I was just a little girl, who wanted to hang out with her Uncle in his cool teenage bedroom, but of course I would make a mess, so he would always kick me out. One day he finally had enough so he decided to put a mannequin head in the hallway, left his door wide open for me to make all the mess I wanted, but I was so terrified of that stupid thing I wouldn't even step foot in the hallway leading to his room. He won that round!
Or when I entered kindergarten, everyone in the family had the same teacher, Mrs. Gibson.  I always insisted that she was brown but as he loved to get me going, he would insist that she was black.  Uncle Stevie clearly did not know his crayon box colors very well.
Or the time he tried to teach me to raise my middle finger to get Mrs. Gibson's attention, instead of raising my hand.
Or when he would do anything possible to try to make us sick.  He would come over and take just about every ingredient in the fridge and make some crazy concoction for us to drink.  If we were able to manage to keep it down, he would pay us.  He usually won those rounds too!
Fast forward to my teenage years, I would always have to warn my boyfriends to stay clear of Uncle Stevie because he would, without a doubt, tell them some crazy stories, which usually ended with your girlfriend should be open to doing certain things.  He knew very well that I would not be open to doing those things, that's why I can now look back and know that he was totally doing that on purpose to drive the boys away.
The holidays were always fun too.  You never knew what to expect from him but they usually went a little something like this.  My sister, Brooke, who was always known as the nice one, would get her present all perfectly packaged in its original box.  My cousin, Danielle, who was nice but could easily be convinced, by me, to me mean, would receive her gifts in the cereal boxes.  And me, being the mean one would get my gifts in the dog bone boxes.
So I feel it's only fair that I continue to be mean and give you one last gift!
Here you go Mutley!
I love you and will always miss you!

Sad to see you go. I will always remember you for the laughs you gave me each and every time I saw you.

Rest in peace Steve. I never knew you but based on what your sister Christine and niece Brittany have told me you sound like you were a Fantastic guy! Now it's time for you to entertain those in heaven with you. Rest in peace!

Uncle Stevie, I will always miss and love you. I remember all our fun adventure at theme parks. Thank you so much for always looking out for me. I will always think of you watching Brokedown Palace. I am saddened by your tremendous loss. I wish I could have known him better. My thoughts and prayers are with you all. The good Lord is with you, lean on Him.

Stevie will be missed by all that knew him.He was and incredible person and a gentle and noble soul. I cant say enough about how he touched my life and how thankful I am to have known him. My heart is broken for all of us .....Stevie I know you are at peace and surrounded by love and now you can see what you couldnt see when you were here ,that you are loved by all . I am so sorry for your loss. I haven't seen Stevie since he was a little boy, but as I read over comments others have made since his passing, I realize he must have been an extraordinary man and I wish I had known him that way. I know he will be missed by all and wish you peace as you go through life without his presence knowing one day we will all be reunited.

There are some things I didn't get to tell you the last time I saw you but you need to know. You were never one for sappy stuff or talks from the heart but you can't tell me to shut up now so here goes.  I always admired you for your bravery. There was nothing you would back down from. I was twice your size but you were the giant in the room. You always amazed me with how you could remember little details about friends and loved ones and good memories. You never missed wishing me, my mom or Michelle Happy Birthday when I could barely remember my own. You were so much smarter and talented than you ever gave yourself credit for. You were the funniest guy I knew. I always appreciated you taking me under your wing when I was young and so painfully awkward. You were hard on me when I needed it and helped show me how to be a man. I can honestly say I would not be the person I am today were it not for you and your influence on my life. Over the years our lives grew apart as many lives do and we didn't hang out very often but you were always on my mind. I regret not reaching out to you more. That will be my cross to bear from now on because there will never be anyone else like you. Thank you for my 18th surprise birthday party. Thank you for being the strength I needed when I was weak. Thank you for getting me a job at Burdines where I met Michelle. Thank you for getting my Nerf boomerang down from that tree (even though you kept it, haha). Thank you for all those rides to and from school. Thank you for just being you. I love you brother. No matter what, I always did and I always will.
