Shirley Nell Martinez, of Tampa, passed away on Saturday, September 28th, in her home surrounded by her loving family. Shirley was born to Betty Nell Dawson & Bill Ralph Martinez on March 26th of 1957. She grew up with her siblings, Bill Martinez, Clifford Martinez, Johnny Martinez, and Maria Martinez.
She is survived by all three of her children, David Martinez, Danielle Realy, and Gabrielle Realy who will ensure her memory will be carried on for generations. She was a cheerleader at Hillsborough High School.
Shirley did all things with joy and love. She worked as a Hillsborough County Schools bus driver for over a decade and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary who serve & support Veterans. Shirley enjoyed the company of her family and friends. Being a wonderful meemaw gave her the greatest feeling of pride and happiness. Cooking and gardening were some of her favorite past times along with fishing with Joe Kolacki, her love and partner. She will be cherished and dearly missed. Per her wishes, a celebration of life will be held at the American Legion post 138.
