Sadie Pearl Culp, age 96, of Tampa, Florida went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 15th, 2023. Sadie was born in Drummonds, Tenn. on January 24, 1927. She moved with her family to Tampa in 1960. She was a faithful and devoted wife to Charles Clinton Culp for 59 years, until his passing in 2005.
She is survived by her loving children, Cathy Parks (Buddy), Mary Snider (Vincent), Ed Culp (Jeanne), Paula St. Clair (Bumper-deceased), Carey Culp (Sheri); 11 grandchildren, Julie Brame, Richard Avirett, Emily Ricketts, Michael Snider, Clint Snider, Jason Snider, Brett Culp, Emily Whittlesey, Sean St. Clair, Heather Morrison, Daniel Culp; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to enjoying her time with family and friends, she was a receptionist/switchboard operator at Florida College in Temple Terrace for 33 years. She was, for many, the first impression of the school; always answering the phone with a smile in her voice. She loved sewing - from a wedding dress to mending and altering for others. Sadie was an excellent cook - frequently preparing meals for shut-ins and was well known for her hospitality. She enjoyed singing hymns, assembling puzzles and spent hours reading. When she had to give up driving, she found other ways to connect with her loved ones by making daily phone calls in order to brighten their day. She was loyal, dependable, and supportive. When anyone needed her, she tried to be there with a listening ear and love in her heart. Between her smile, laughter and sharing her love for the Lord, she truly was a woman to emulate. As one of her granddaughters said, “She was the happiest person I’ve ever known-all the way until the end”.
We are forever grateful for her.
