VANDENBERGHE, Ruth E. Padgett, 97, of Tampa, passed away on June 30, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, George G. Vandenberghe, founder of Vandenberg Airport now known as Tampa Executive Airport. She was also preceded in death by her son, G. Martin Vandenberghe. Ruth graduated from Plant High School, Class of 1936. She was an active member of Tampa First Seventh-day Adventist Church since April 1933. She is survived by her loving family, daughter, Joanne M. NeSmith (Jack); sons, Dr. James G. Vandenberghe (Judy), Edward L. Vandenberghe (Sang); daughter in law, Sharon; brother, Ronald Padgett (Ellen); 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Shady Palms Retirement Homes, Inc. 14527 N. Florida Ave. Tampa, Fl 33613. Visitation will take place on Thursday, 7/7/2016 from 5:30pm – 7:30pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home 4207 E. Lake Avenue Tampa, Fl 33610. Graveside service will be private.
