Roy was born December 5, 1939, in Aniston, Alabama, to Eugene and Daisy Hunt.
Roy worked for Florida Steel and retired from them after 32 years. Roy enjoyed fishing, collecting coins, as well as antique cars, scuba diving, traveling, and most of all spending time with his family who he valued the most. For those that knew Roy, knew that he had an unwavering love and loyalty to his family. He had a firm understanding of what was important - the simplicity of living life with those you love. His most proud achievement in life was marrying his wife Evelyn who lovingly supported him until his last breath. Roy was an inspiration and example to all. He will be missed beyond measure.
Roy is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Evelyn Hunt; brother, Charles Hunt and his wife, Donice; sister, Patricia Hammett; daughter, Paula Fritcher; son, Roy Hunt II and his wife, Pam, grandchildren, Amy Powell, Mackenzie Hunt, and Chase Hunt; great-grandchildren, Dixie, Levi, and Annberleigh; several nieces and nephews; as well as great nieces and great nephews.
A funeral service will be held 3 p.m. Friday, February 21, 2020 at Blount & Curry Funeral Home at Garden of Memories. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
