Cooper, Roger Alan, 60, of Tampa passed away February 24, 2016. He was preceded in death by his father, George Cooper. Roger will be missed by his loving wife of 31 years, Carol; his mother, Eloise Cooper of Brecksville, OH; his children, Samantha (Parker Lane) of Chicago, IL, Thomas of Seattle, WA and Kelsey of Tampa, FL; Jonathan and Michelle Natt; his brothers, Glen Cooper (Anne) of Brecksville, OH and Gerald Cooper of Houston, TX; his sisters, Beth Frey (John) of Allentown, PA and Laurel Blatnik (Rudy) of Solon, OH; his mother-in-law, Lela Long (Frank Sardone) of Clearwater, FL; sister-in-law Cathy of Tulum, MX and brother-in-law Randy (Sarah) of Oviedo, FL; his nieces and nephews: Braden Long of FL, Lisa Cooper, Sarah Cooper Leon (Christopher) and grand-niece Nayla, and Jenny Cooper Cattan (David) of CA, Roger Cooper and Alan Cooper of OH, Jennifer Blatnik Grandinetti (Joseph) and grand-niece Gianna, and Stephanie Blatnik (Jason) of OH, Steven Frey and Megan Frey of PA, Christopher (Victoria) and grand-niece Isabelle, Andrew (Marta) and grand-niece/nephew Oriana and Leonardo, Jonathan and Hannah Cooper of Berkhamsted, UK; countless friends and business colleagues throughout the country. Born in Berea, OH and raised in Cleveland; Olympia Fields, IL; Brecksville, OH; and Upper St. Clair, PA, Roger has lived in Tampa since 1983. He received his Bachelor of Science, Business Administration from Miami University, Oxford, OH in 1978 and Master of Business Administration from Baldwin-Wallace College in Berea, OH in 1982. He worked for Verifone for over 5 years; prior to that his role in reducing our risk of credit card fraud and the payments industry in general was through his work at Semtek, Bank of America, CheckAGAIN, SCAN (Deluxe Payment Protection Systems), and LPA (LeRoux, Pitts & Assoc). He was proud to have been a Boy Scout and all it taught him about the outdoors. He loved his family and friends beyond words, fishing, boating, bonfires in the backyard, and hosting any kind of large or small social event.
