Robley (Bobbie) Jobe Guy passed away Sunday, March 25, 2018. Mrs. Guy was born in Murfreesboro, TN, October 26, 1930. She was a graduate of the Academy of the Immaculate Conception, Mayaguez, Puerto Rico and Georgia State Women’s College, Valdosta, Georgia. She spent much of her young adult life as a schoolteacher, and even returned to teaching later in life at Erwin Technical Center, Tampa, Florida. She also enjoyed researching and documenting family history, and was an active member of several ancestral societies including Daughters of the American Revolution, Colonial Dames of the Seventeenth Century, Jamestown Society, and National Society of Magna Charter Dames. Mrs. Guy was also a member of American Needlepoint Guild, and was an active member of Hyde Park United Methodist Church during her time in Tampa, FL. She was preceded in death by her husband Woodville William Guy and is survived by her son, Arthur D. Guy and wife Lynn, of Raleigh, NC, and her daughter, Cynthia Guy Wanke and husband Doug, of Silver Spring, MD, four grandchildren Lauren Johnston Robinson and husband Ben, Russell Wanke, Ashley Ann Guy Esser and husband Chris, and William Guy, and one great grandchild, McKinley Rae Robinson. Mrs. Guy is also survived by her sister, Emily Jobe Sprouse, along with several nieces and nephews. She will be remembered for her love of church, children, and country. Visitation will be held at 10 o’clock at the chapel at Hyde Park United Methodist Church, 500 West Platt Street, Tampa, FL. A celebration of life service will follow at 11 o’clock. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery, Lakeland, FL. Arrangements are provided by Blount & Curry, Tampa, FL.
