Bob was an accomplished professional with Masters in Management and Adjunct Assistant Professor at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. Gratefully accepted many awards and medals through the years. Most recent the Joint Civilian Service Commendation Award from USSOCOM J8 and Award for Meritorious Civilian Service.
Major Werner served his country extraordinarily well for over 43 years. From enlistment in 1969 serving in Vietnam to present day Senior Operational Test Officer for Headquarters United States Operational Command at MacDill AFB. Many men and women are safe today because of Major Werner’s hard work and dedication. From start to finish of his long support to Special Operations, Bob defined what a quiet professional is.
Bob was born on Feb. 2, 1949 in Portsmouth, Virginia to Robert D. and Marion Aullene Werner. He is preceded in death by his mother, Marion on November 8, 2016. He is survived by his dedicated and loving wife of 35 years, Mary Elizabeth Werner; Daughter, Christina Marie Werner; Son, Robert D. Werner III and Fiancé Tiffany Flower; Grandson, Noah Christopher Werner; Father, Robert D. Werner Sr; Sister, Patty Werner-Blackwell; Brother, Michael Werner; Brother, Jeff Werner; Brother, Phil Werner; Niece, Candice Noyce.
